2009 Hybrid Pinot Noir
TASTING NOTES
With a garnet ruby appearance and an extraordinary bouquet of wild flowers, this hy.brid Pinot Noir displays intense black cherry flavors with juicy plum undertones. Medium body tannins finish into a savory cherry chocolate liqueur.
VINEYARD
Our Pinot Noir grapes are grown on the northern border of the Lodi Appellation where the cool evening San Francisco Delta breezes and warm sunny days produce ultimate growing conditions.
WINEMAKING
All of the grapes were estate grown, picked at 24.8 Brix, de-stemmed, crushed with one day cold soak, Pasture Red on primary and Vinoflora Oenos on secondary. Limited hand pump-overs, pressed early at only four days. The Viognier underwent 100% secondary fermentation without oak to ensure that there was no residual malic acid.
PAIRING
This Pinot Noir matches Duck, Pork, and other lightly flavored meats.
